Today, I had the very difficult task of deciding what plant I really, really like at the Winterthur plant shop. I picked Hosta ”Gold Standard” because of the amazing chartreuse color of its leaves. It would look smashing in a shady spot in my garden. Maybe I’ll pick one up on my way home tonight. http://www.perennialresource.com/encyclopedia/view/?plant=459
Loes picked Gaura lindheimeri because it looks like gay butterflies in her garden. http://www.mobot.org/gardeninghelp/plantfinder/plant.asp?code=C840
My runner-up plant is an amazing red dahlia back by the stone wall.
Insider tip: when I was there this afternoon, Loes was busily applying 25% and 50% off tags to some of the plants. They’ll go quickly!
