John Salata, Winterthur’s Superintendent, tells about the newest feature in Enchanted Woods:
A one ton section of tree salvaged from a recently removed black oak (Quercus velutina), has found a new home in Enchanted Woods. The tripodial branch remnant is a temporary feature, replacing the deteriorating large white oak log that claimed the space near Frog Hollow since 2005. The piece serves as both a natural planter and play feature for scampering children.
