Summer has officially arrived in the Winterthur Garden ushering in a season of cool breezes in a green paradise. Enjoy a shady walk along the March Bank blanketed in a primeval layer of lush green ferns. Near the museum, a sweep of blue, pink and white hydrangea brighten a shady glen. If you stroll through the cool of the pinetum, a billow of green ferns near the Latimeria Gates will invite you out into the meadow’s sunshine. There, grasses and wild flowers wave a greeting.
Bright orange and lemon-yellow daylilies begin their summer show along the March Bank, near the Reflecting Pool and along the greenhouse walk. Visitors to Enchanted Woods will be surrounded by the cool colors of hydrangea and hosta flowers. At the Glade Garden a waterfall tumbles down a glistening limestone outcropping to multi-leveled pools housing an array of colorful koi amidst plantings of hosta, lilies and iris.
