Just walked in from the greenhouse parking lot for a few hours of work before the weekend. (Spent the morning seeing the amazing Nemours Garden, then a couple hours at Tatnall School hanging art for the Children’s Beach House Plein Air art sale. Wonderful paintings and photography of Winterthur!) http://www.cbhinc.org/events/brandywine-valley-plein-air-festival.html
I think this time of year, though, I should drive with blinders on so I’m not distracted by the fabulous fall foliage. Did you see that maple by the Methodist Country House this week? Its dark trunk is a perfect foil for the orange and yellow foliage. There’s a terrific painting of that tree in the CBH show.
Here are a few shots from this afternoon at Winterthur. We are at, or very near, our fall peak!
